Creator subscription and streaming platform

Published September 17, 2026

The problem

A subscription platform for creators was not one product. It was six, and they all had to work on day one.

Billing needed trials, discounts and tiered pricing. Payouts needed to reach creators across jurisdictions, compliantly. Identity verification had to satisfy different regulatory regimes. Paid content had to be genuinely inaccessible to non-subscribers. Live streaming needed real-time chat and tipping. Messaging needed private paid content sharing.

What we built

Billing and payouts

A custom subscription billing model on Stripe supporting trials, discounts and tiered pricing. Stripe Connect for creator payouts, platform fees and custom accounts, with fraud detection.

Content protection

A secure image access system using S3 triggers and microservices: uploaded images were automatically blurred, with real versions released to paying subscribers through time-limited URLs, enforced at the storage layer, not the interface.

Live streaming & messaging

AWS IVS for webcam and screen broadcast with chat, tipping and OBS support; an AWS Chime SDK chat system handling direct messages and private paid content sharing.

AI content pipeline

GPT and DALL·E integrated into a production content generation pipeline producing images, captions and descriptions from prompts.

Outcome

  • Six distinct product domains delivered as one working platform
  • It ran daily for paying customers
  • Content protection enforced at the storage layer, where it could not be bypassed client-side
  • Payouts, fees and multi-region KYC handled inside one compliant flow
  • The platform was discontinued during a rebrand
